At Langdon, we are conscious of our impact on the environment. Written into our code of conduct is our commitment to taking reasonable standards of care to protect the environment and to provide for the health and safety of all employees and the communities in which we operate around the world.
Our 26,000sqm climate-controlled warehouse, located in Victoria, is substantially powered via hundreds of solar power panels. In addition, our recent upgrades to the Culinary Centre, reception and meeting areas have largely used energy saving components & energy efficient lighting. We continue to see major benefits from our vast array of panels and general energy-aware practices, including a carbon reduction equivalent to 418,632kg in coal production, in the last 12 months alone. Similarly, at Paraweena, our solar panel installations generate most of our power needs, particularly powering our large freezer and chiller storage areas. In other site locations, the Tesla Powerwall battery system has been installed, reducing our reliance on the grid by 30%, with solar the main source of energy production.
